Dragon Queen is all set to become Skrull Queen as Emilia Clarke is playing Veranke, the Skrull Queen in the ‘Secret Invasion’ series at Disney+.
Since Emilia Clarke's identity was made public, a lot of rumors have been circulating about her part in the upcoming Secret Invasion Disney+ Series. Finally, a recent leak by insider MTTSH has revealed Emilia Clarke's role in the next Marvel Studios series.
Additionally, this latest leak dispelled all earlier claims that Emilia will portray S.W.O.R.D. agent Abigail Brand. However, given that Veranke serves as the primary adversary of Secret Invasion, this new twist might dissatisfy viewers who were hoping to see Emilia Clarke in a good role.
Veranke is a well-known Skrull character in comic books due to her frequent appearances in Marvel comics. In Secret Invasion #1, Veranke made his debut as a masked character in a brief cameo.

In the comics, after the Illuminati have left the Skrull palace, Princess Veranke chastises Emperor Dorrek VII for disobeying the Skrull predictions. As Dorrek VII ignores her warnings, Veranke declares that Dorrek VII must be ousted if he is unable to heed the Skrull people's wishes and the texts of the Skrull scriptures. Veranke is sent to a prison planet by Dorrek VII for her resistance, who labels her a crazed fanatic and a traitor while acknowledging that killing her would just make her a martyr for her cause.
The Skrull predictions were realized, and Veranke was given the throne of the Skrull Empire. The announcement that Earth will be the Skrulls' new home is made by Veranke in her capacity as Queen. As a result, the Skrulls start a massive operation to infiltrate Earth's various layers and take control of it, weakening Earth just enough for a military invasion to capture the planet. When the invasion started, Veranke took the initiative in leading the battle against Earth's superheroes, among them Iron Man, Black Widow, Reed Richards, Thor, and Captain America.
In the comics, Veranke originally appeared as Jessica Drew, a.k.a. Spider-Woman. Veranke is acquainted with Kate Bishop and other Young Avengers members. Additionally, she engaged in combat with Wasp, Echo, and Jean Grey, which gives us optimism that Emilia's persona will appear in a number of upcoming Marvel productions.
This Thursday, March 24, Secret Invasion will resume production for a one-day shoot in Toronto after filming earlier this month in London, UK, was completed. Based on a script written by Kyle Bradstreet, Ali Selim and Thomas Bezucha have directed all six episodes.
Secret Invasion is a six-episode series from Marvel Studios as a part of the main MCU Phase 4 and is likely to release in early 2023 on Disney+.
