Lena Headey Is Being Sued For Her Role In 'Thor: Love and Thunder'

Lena Headey's Scenes Got Cut from 'Thor: Love and Thunder' and She's Being Sued for It

The actor's former agency has allegedly filed a lawsuit over outstanding commission fees.
According to reports, Lena Headey's old agency is suing her for $1.5 million for unpaid commission fees for a number of projects, including her chopped role in Thor: Love and Thunder.

According to Variety, Headey is being sued by the former agency that represented him in the U.K., Troika, for unpaid commission fees on several projects. The entire amount requested by the agency is $1.5 million, which includes $500,000 (or around 7% of her fee) for her earnings on Thor 4 even though she isn't included in the finished version of the Marvel film.

Headey joined Troika in 2005 and stayed on their books until 2020, the year the company changed its name to YMU, according to court records that the outlet was able to get. The business asserts that Headey owes them a sizable commission in accordance with the terms of their contract, but Headey contends that she never formally contracted with Troika.

Additionally, Headey asserts that Troika was not consulted during the contract discussions for her now-cancelled part in Thor: Love and Thunder because the position was personally offered to her by director Taika Waititi. The agency is reportedly seeking at least $300,000 from her starring role in 9 Bullets and $650,000 for her eponymous character in the canceled Showtime series Rita in addition to her MCU payments.

In her legal documents, Headey is said to have opposed all of Troika's claims for these commission payments, claiming that the company has already received full payment for the projects it worked on while Headey was their client. She was also signed with CAA in the United States, so Troika wasn't her only agent and didn't take the lead in all discussions.

Headey wasn't the only actor to have parts chopped during post-production for Marvel's upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder; the reason for this is unknown. Christian Bale recently revealed to Prensa Escenario that while he had filmed scenes with Jeff Goldblum's Grandmaster and Peter Dinklage's dwarf ruler Eitri, both of those interactions were cut from the final product.

Along with these deleted cameos, some scenes starring the main actors were also left from the final cut. It was decided that one scene was a little "too severe" for the movie, and there were also ideas for a Kate Bush dance scene that never materialized, according to Bale, who will be making his MCU debut as Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder.
