No More 'Young Rhaenyra' In Season 2 of House Of The Dragon

Milly Alcock dashed hopes of returning in upcoming season of HOTD .
“It’s done,” she said.

The news was a surprise to many fans, who had grown attached to Alcock's portrayal of the young princess in the first season. However, after a 10-year time jump  between Episodes 5 and 6, Rhaenyra was played by Emma D’Arcy, who will return for House of the Dragon season 2.

It appears that Milly's absence from season 2 is because of story-line rather than any issues with the actress herself. It is possible that her character's storyline has come to an end.

But still, most of the fans wished for Alcock to come back for flashback scenes. But Alcock herself dashed hopes of that while talking to Deadline.  “No. It’s doneit changed my life very quickly and it will never be the same again,”she said.

Alcock seemed excited while saying,  “Now I get to do all of the wonderful, amazing things that I really want to do, and I’m still figuring out what that is.”

House of the Dragon is an all time popular fantasy show based on George R.R. Martin's book Fire & Blood, which tells the history of House Targaryen, that ruled over Westeros before the events of Game of Thrones. The show follows the story of the Targaryen civil war, centuries before the events of Game of Thrones known as the Dance of the Dragons.

Milly Alcock played the role of young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in the first season. Even though she is young, Rhaenyra is a key character in the story, as she is the heir to the Targaryen throne and a main player in the political games of her mother and her half-brother, Aegon II.

Despite Alcock's absence from season 2,  House of the Dragon fans can still look forward to the continuation of the story of the Targaryen civil war. As the show's stunning production values, talented cast, and rich source material has never let down its fans there is no doubt that House of the Dragon will continue to be a must-watch for fans of the Game of Thrones universe.
