Emilia Clarke’s Role In Marvel's Secret Invasion Is Officially Revealed

Emilia Clarke is playing G’iah, the daughter of Talos

Samuel L. Jackson, when asked about Emilia Clarke’s character,  refered to a scene from the movie Captain Marvel in which the reunion between Mendelsohn’s Talos and his family in the space station orbiting the Earth was seen. “Remember when Ben was there with his wife and his daughter?” He sayd. “She’s the little Skrull girl grown up, she’s his daughter.”

As Fury leveraged the Skrulls’ shapeshifting powers to build a network of spies (much like Hydra infiltrated high-level political networks), in upcoming Disney+ Marvel series Secret Invasion, he discovers some of them are furuios by the long wait for the new home and have decided to turn on Nick Fury and Skrull leader Talos.

Surprisingly, one of those radicals is Emilia Clarke’s character G’iah, who is the daughter of Skrull leader Talos. Influenced by the dark vision of the leader of the extremist, Gravik, G’iah decided that her father’s is no longer fit to lead. G’iah and Gravik believe that the diplomacy has not worked so that's why there is the need for some radical and violent action.

Emilia Clarke says that growing up as a refugee, G’iah’s experience has hardened her for sure. There’s a kind of criminal feeling that you get from this girl.” G’iah also has a distrust of her father’s allies.
“[Humans] promised a lot of stuff a long time ago and not a lot has happened. So understandably, a certain amount of resentment has been built”

Jonathan Schwartz, who is the executive producer of Marvel's Secret Invasion, told Vanity Fair that the series will be inspired by Brian Michael Bendis’ 2008 Secret Invasion. He also mentioned that modern television shows Homeland and The Americans, which center on “the clash between loyalty and identity,” were also of interest to the creators of Marvel's Secret Invasion.
