Natalie Dormer to Lead South African Crime Thriller Series ‘White Lies’

Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer will lead the cast of "White Lies", a South African crime thriller.








Natalie Dormer who became a fan favorite for playing Margaery Tyrell  in 'Game of Thrones' , is now in Cape Town, as she has a lead role in upcoming series White Lies.

Hopefully shooting will start in next month on White Lies, which will star Dormer alongside Brendon Daniels (Four Corners) as investigative journalist Edie Hansen and detective Forty Bell respectively. Set in the wealthy neighborhood of Bishopscourt, Cape Town, As for her character we know that Hansen gets caught up in the ugly underbelly that lies beneath the picturesque beauty of the city, chased by a turbulent past. Following her estranged brother’s murder in his luxury home, she found herself deeper into chaos when  teenage children of her brother become prime suspects for the crime, as she finds herself at loggerheads with Bell.

Dormer is best known for her role as Margaery Tyrell in 'Game of Thrones.' whrer she she's married to stupid young King Joffrey and and plot different schemes aginst Lannisters.






Natalie Dormer said, “I’m thrilled to be in Cape Town and to begin filming this beautiful, gripping show."
 She continued with: "South Africa has so much to offer, an international audience with its storytelling.”

Alongside a range of scripted projects, formats and docs, The show will be discussed Friday at Fremantle’s London TV Screenings event. 

The series’ lead director is The Wound’s John Trengove, whose latest film Manodrome with Jesse Eisenberg and Adrien Brody premiered at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival.White Lies is created by Sean Steinberg and written by Darrel Bristow-Bovey.

 The series is Produced by Harriet Gavshon and Nimrod Geva for Quizzical Pictures, with Dormer and Bristow-Bovey also serving as executive producers.  Directing alongside Trengove are Catharine Cooke (Reyka)Christiaan Olwagen (Poppie Nongena, Kanarie) and Thati Pele (Lerato). While Julie Hodge is an executive producer on behalf of Fremantle, which is also distributing the series internationally.
