The Greatest Army In Game of Thrones

When it comes to the greatest army in the "Game of Thrones", the first which thought pops up in mind is "is it Dothraki or Unsullied."

The Dothraki and Unsullied, both were well-known and feared in Westeros, perhaps in the whole world of Game of Thrones.

Even in the books the Dothraki are described as some of the greatest warriors in the world and superior in battle to Westerosi knights.

While the Unsullied were the most skilled and disciplined army trained for the sole purpose of battle.

As proven by what some of the best warriors in Westeros had to say about Dothraki, it's almost impossible for any army to defeat Dothraki in open field battle.

King Robert Baratheon who's well known for his skills pointed out that no-one could defeat Dothraki in battle in an open field.

(I love Robert's quote, because it came from George himself):

"𝑶𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒂 𝒇𝒐𝒐𝒍 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒎𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑫𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒂𝒌𝒊 𝒊𝒏 𝒂𝒏 𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒏 𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅." - Robert Baratheon.

Bron, who is a very skilled sell-sword also admitted their supremacy in battlefield.

"𝑮𝒆𝒕 𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒕𝒐 𝑲𝒊𝒏𝒈’𝒔 𝑳𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈... 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒇$𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒘𝒂𝒎𝒑 𝒖𝒔." - Bronn to Jaime.

And when we learn about what Sir Jaime Lannister, the kingslayer and perhaps the most skilled warrior in his time has to say about them.

"𝑰 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒔𝒂𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑫𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒂𝒌𝒊 𝒇𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕; 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚'𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆𝒂𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒚, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚'𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆𝒂𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒚 𝑰'𝒗𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒆𝒆𝒏. 𝑲𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒎𝒆𝒏 𝒘𝒂𝒔𝒏'𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎; 𝒊𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕..." - Jaime to Cersei..

However, four centuries before the events in Game of Thrones, they may have been defeated by the Unsullied in the Battle of Qohor even though the latter had been outnumbered 20 to 3.

There were only 3,000 Unsullied soldiers against 20,000 Dothraki, yet the Unsullied held their defence.

The battle takes place between the city of Qohor and the Dothraki horde led by Khal Temmo.

Qohor, known for its skilled blacksmiths and defensive capabilities, faces a significant threat from the nomadic warriors.

In George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, the Battle of Qohor is an event shrouded in mystery, and the outcome is not explicitly revealed in the published works.

The battle occurs in the Essos storyline, and the information available is limited, with no clear indication of the winner.

The outcome of the battle is intentionally left ambiguous by the author, adding to the intrigue and unpredictability of the series.

Readers and fans are left to speculate on the events of the Battle of Qohor, and the lack of a definitive answer contributes to the complexity and unpredictability that characterize Martin's storytelling in the series.

The focus often shifts to the aftermath and the consequences of the battle rather than explicitly stating the victor, allowing for various interpretations and theories among the fanbase.
